Master Fletch 7th Lego Party

Phew ...the party has come and gone! It was a crazy day of fun, cake and a Lego man pinata!! Invites were sent out to family and friends and ALL of his class! By the end of the party we had over 60 people come and celebrate his birthday!
For my poor little 2 bedroom house with a shared backyard it felt more like half time food/toilet break at the MCG

I will have some tutorials for those who requested them in the near future.

Today I want to share with you some pictures from the party, mainly of the cake. The cake is a Lego Construction Men cake - with a Star Wars twist. I hope you enjoy!

Ta-Da!! Lego Man Construction Cake

Ta-Da!! Lego Man Construction Cake...My friend had fun making the  Lego bulldozer that sat on top of the cake!

The back of the cake, I also used Lego men and eraser Lego bricks.

My  favourite element to the cake - The Clean Up Man!

Takes a village of Lego Men to construct this cake! The Star Wars shapes were made using fondant and cookie cutters that I found on from this seller. I also made cookies using these cutters and have used them heaps of times since!

Watch out, coming through

Tapping the Star Wars pieces into place

My poser in his PJs helping to creating a wall of balloons as the backdrop to the food table. I found this idea on  Pinterest and I Blutacked  a Lego baseplate with his initial and age to the wall in the middle (no pics of the completed wall/table sorry!)

Very clever Brother-in-law had been working on this Lego Man Pinata for weeks before the party. He was HUGE! Almost as tall as the kids! He was constructed out of boxes and paper mache (spelling ?). The lollies were in parts of his body but thankfully not full! He was a hard man to crack open but the kids enjoyed trying. Lego Man made for an entertaining element to the party!

Kids loving Life-sized Lego Man...a peek at the food table too

The kids had fun trying to crack him open

I think I have just fallen in love!!

There are a few events coming up over the next few months, so I have been trawling Google for some inspiration and checking that some of the ideas I have are not too widely used!!! I say this but as time flies, I may take my inspiration from all the super talented people out there in the world.

My son will be having a LEGO party for his 7th, and I got just a wee bit sidetracked...ok, a LOT sidetracked by a website that just transported me to a fairy-tale world. A White Carousel got me with the Queen Elizabeth II Lego creations, hooked by gorgeous gowns and whitewashed kitchen. I knew I was there to stay at the mention of Champagne! Check them out!

Winter - OH how I love thee!

Wowsers - it has been awhile since I have actually posted on my blog! It must be because my favourite season (Winter) has come about again and I am feeling renewed and inspired to post. Today I have found some amazing photos of lovely winter cupcakes etc. Enjoy!

Some people doing the planking and teapotting together!!!

http://gvperthblog.com/2011/05/18/pre-intermediate-students-at-gv-perth-get-in-on-the-latest-crazes-of-planking-teapotting/

Planking vs Teapotting

Well hasn't planking taken off and taken some very interesting and fatal directions? A bit of harmless fun initially (or as a facebook friend stated 'in my day it was called being a kid!) has been tarnished by a few that have gone way too far with it, and I really feel for those families and friends who lost someone close.

It seems that so many different things can take off and spread like wildfire as a fad on social network sites like Facebook.

I find this one a much more civilised fad darlings! Teapotting!
Read  this story and thought it was great

Can you imagine sitting in a beautiful teahouse or outdoor cafe, sipping on your very civilised earl grey and teacake - then getting up and doing a little 'I'm a little teapot' pose!? Fantastic - I love it!

My kids have planked the couches and barstools, but will they teapot ? I think that although Teapotting is so sweet, planking in its more extreme form will probably outdo it.

Here are the full lyrics to I'm a little teapot taken from Lyrics007, i didn't know that there were actually more words than the chorus - oops!

I'm a little teapot

Short and stouts

Here is my handle

Here is my spout

When I get all steamed up

I just shout

Tip me over and pour me out

I'm a very special pot

It's true

Here's an example of what I can do

I can turn my handle into a spout

Tip me over and pour me out

I'm a little teapot

Short and stouts

Here is my handle

Here is my spout

When I get all steamed up

I just shout

Tip me over and pour me out

I'm a very special pot

It's true

Here's an example of what I can do

I can turn my handle into a spout

Tip me over and pour me out

Thirsty for a cuppa now!?
